The tattoo I got was a butterfly. I have always known that I wanted a butterfly. Butterflies symbolize new life. I feel that I got a second chance at life and I will live it to the fullest. Since my new life began in 2011, I have done so many things I never thought I would do. I feel very blessed to live this life and I am very thankful for God giving it to me.
Getting color on my tattoo was very hard. I could never make up my mind about the color of my butterfly. As a couple of us were getting more serious about getting a tattoo, I had to really think about the color of the butterfly. One night as I was going to sleep, it came to my mind. I wanted the colors from the Ukrainian Flag Ukraine has changed my life forever. I have left a piece of my heart there and I pray that I will get to go back one day. So that was it, the top part of the butterfly will be blue and the bottom will be yellow. Now Ukraine will always be apart of me! I felt at peace with this decision.
We went to Bondi Ink which is at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. This place filmed its first episodes on Bondi Ink for a tv show in Sydney. So it will soon be really famous. The staff was wonderful there. Everyone was so nice. A big group of us went. Two people got ear piercing which I was there for both. Then five of us got a tattoo. For three of us, it was our first tattoo. My tattoo artist was a young girl who was great. Her name is Giorgia. She was so nice and made the process less scary. She got exactly what I wanted. While she was doing the tattoo, there was great music playing. The tattoo itself did not hurt that bad. It was better than I thought it would be. It took her about and hour and a half. Once she was finished, I was in love right away. I feel like I have always had it.
